The Sr Business Analyst is responsible for elicitation, analysis, and documentation of business requirements of strategic projects. This role acts as a liaison, facilitating and communicating among several business and IT stakeholders. May involve work with third party entities or vendors. The Sr Business Analyst works independently to lead projects to successful completion following Athene USA business analysis methodology.
Facilitates and leads interview with business stakeholders to understand business and system needs
Translate needs into effective business requirement documents.
Employs various analysis techniques to create business requirements (Current and future state process models, requirement plans, context diagrams, business rules, use cases, user stories)
Chooses appropriate method, tailors to audience, provide facts and achieves intended purpose.
Strong facilitation skills including making sure meetings are well organized, stay on task, and have clear objectives that are met
Embraces change and provide encouragement to guide others through change; effectively manages conflict
Partners with Quality Assurance (QA) and coordinates User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business areas
Works effectively with all levels of the organization, including executive leadership
Participates in BA Peer review sessions presenting business requirement documents and mentors less experienced business analysts
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education with 5+ years of experience as a business analyst or business consultant experience required.
Understands and employs business analysis concepts (business process modelling (BPM), context diagrams, use cases and user stories)
Proficient with Project Management and Software Development Life Cycle methodologies (SDLC)
Experience working with annuity and/or financial services industry preferred
Experience working with reporting, policy data and data definitions
Skilled in using Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Visio, Project, PowerPoint)
Must have strong knowledge of company vision, mission, and strategic objectives
Strong communication skills both verbal and written
Willing to consider candidates at a higher level dependent upon qualifications and experience.
