Robert Half International Payroll Manager in WEST DES MOINES, Iowa


We are seeking accomplished candidates with prior payroll management experience and immediate availability for a Payroll Manager position at our company in the West Des Moines, Iowa area. How you will make an impact

  • Oversee the production of all weekly, monthly, and special compensation payroll runs. Interpret pay policies (LOA, disability, worker's compensation, vacation, bonus, etc.) and ensure appropriate amounts/deductions are applied correctly to various earnings codes in compliance with all local, state, and federal laws

  • Handle internal and external audits

  • Partner with other areas in Finance, as well as Human Resources, Tax, IT, and other departments as necessary for reporting, compliance and strategic analysis

  • Run payroll operations and manage staff members

  • Establish and maintain a team, as well as motivate it to success

  • Do analysis on payroll

  • Review and improve current processes by suggesting, leading, and working on projects

  • Handle pre- and post-payroll auditing/reconciling procedures and troubleshoot anomalies

  • Work with fellow members of senior Finance leadership team

  • Hold meetings with senior executives and cross-functional business leaders to show information and to answer any questions they may have

  • Maintain internal safeguards by taking charge of record keeping and control systems


  • Less than one year of experience preferred

  • UltiPro experience desired

  • Deep understanding of benefits coordination

  • Human Resources (HR) Administration experience highly desired

  • HR Policy experience

  • Knowledge of benefits administration

  • Expert in payroll-related cloud-based technology solutions

  • Certified Payroll Profession (CPP) certification suggested

  • Skilled in a number of payroll applications

  • This position requires strong interpersonal skills for the candidate to be successful

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
