The Technology Infrastructure (TI) Service and Infrastructure Platform Delivery (SIPD) team is looking for a dynamic and innovative technology manager to lead the SIPD Platform Management – Backbone, Faxing & Secure Email Operations Team. This Platform Manager will be responsible for delivering infrastructure services for the Electronic Messaging and Collaboration services organization, ensuring consistent delivery of enterprise services for an SMTP Backbone based on Proofpoint Sentrion, Secure Email via Voltage and Zix/Zixport, and faxing via Rightfax and Faxcom technologies. This position will report to the EMCS Platform Management manager.

This position directly manages the Enterprise Messaging Backbone, Faxing & Encryption Operations (BFEO) team, with approximately 10 full-time team members. The BFEO and peer teams will focus on the enablement and standardization of the EMC’s Operations teams across all infrastructures. Successful candidate provides direction and on-going leadership for a team supporting a highly technical operations organization. Will deliver process improvement, efficiency of operations, capacity planning, and meet service level commitments. Will utilize benchmarking and industry best practices to deliver best-in-class IT operational services, utilizes metrics-based management disciplines to measure progress toward organizational goals. Performs organizational planning and manages staff activities with an emphasis on personal performance while partnering with various IT organizations and vendors to deliver highly dependable services. Drives development and delivery of service offerings, manages projects / programs within area, manages service request pipeline, and plans, analyzes and manages budgets. Position assures adherence to all corporate standards, policies and procedures to attain secure, efficient, and quality functioning of area. Work closely with peer managers in the EMCS Platform Management team, Client Support, EMCS Engineering departments, EACO, and Change/Problem Management.

Candidate should have experience working in a complex messaging corporate environment (>10,000 users) where the team member must follow corporate policies regarding security, audit, and change control processes. Ideal candidate will also have prior front-line operational support experience. The candidate will provide managerial oversight for team responsible for the support, administration and maintenance for messaging infrastructure. This position will be part of a 24x7 support organization and off hours’ support may be needed.

This individual will combine his/her hands-on enterprise messaging technical expertise with his/her exceptional management and leadership skills to be part of a cohesive, top-notch Platform Management team supporting EMCS technologies.

Required Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of technology experience

  • 2+ years of leadership or management experience, in a technology environment

  • 4+ years of information technology experience

  • 3+ years of leadership experience in a production environment

  • 4+ years of experience with one or a combination of the following email security tools: Proofpoint, SendMail, Cisco IronPort, Symantec Email Security (Cloud and Messaging Gateway), Mimecast, Barracuda Networks, Fortinet (Fortimail) or FireEye

Desired Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Ability to interact with all levels of an organization

  • 4+ years of experience with SMTP backbone systems interfacing with enterprise level email systems

  • 5+ years of experience with secure email systems such as Voltage or Zix

  • 1+ year of Splunk experience

  • Experience with DNS Firewall concepts and practical applications

  • Knowledge and understanding of load balancers or applications delivery controllers

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Knowledge and understanding of technology support: high volume 24x7 mission critical systems

  • Knowledge and understanding of technology support: on call rotational staff, within a-24x7 large enterprise

  • Ability to communicate effectively with business partners and project managers

  • Ability to deliver multiple concurrent projects or large scale individual projects

  • Flexibility to address incidents as needed 24 hours a day
