Finance brings together enterprise functions that drive Wells Fargo's financial management, including accounting and control, financial planning and analysis, line of business finance, asset-liability management, treasury, tax management, and the company's investment portfolios. They also inform shareholders, regulators, taxing authorities, employees, and leaders of the company's financial performance through earnings releases, investor meetings and conferences, and meetings with regulators and credit rating agencies, following appropriate reporting guidelines.

The Position

This position will report into the Finance Resiliency Leader. The Resilience Officer will be a strategic risk management partner for the business coordinators and managers to collaborate with and counsel on policy requirements. The Resiliency Officer will be responsible for effectively leading and managing the day-to-day policy requirements and implementing the Resiliency Program, including incident and crisis management prior to negative events to ensure preparedness; as well as during crisis response execution of incident and crisis management.

The key responsibilities for the role include:

  • Understand the Enterprise Resiliency Framework and support the Resiliency Lead in enforcement of the overall resiliency vision, strategy, and objectives to their respective Business Resiliency Managers and Business Resiliency Consultants

  • Support the design of exercises and tests across Finance and tests at more granular levels.

  • Facilitate and coordinate resiliency activities, provide expertise on enterprise-wide requirements, designs exercises, and ensures resiliency is a strategic priority and consideration in business as usual activities

  • Ensure BCPs exist for all active business functions and all production technology components and the BCPs are implemented, documented, exercised, maintained, and comply with EBCP requirements. In addition, ensure timely updates are made to the BCPs as changes occur within the organization

  • Review and provide feedback regarding any identified issues or control weaknesses to ensure business and technology recovery strategies support business needs, are realistic, and support product/service impact tolerances to support customer experience and regulatory requirements

  • Monitor the completion and documentation of all required Exercise and Maintenance activities (Record Verification, TRTC/TRPC, Plan Distribution, Walkthrough, simulation, etc.) annually and ensure all requirements are met

  • Review and provide feedback regarding any identified issues or control weaknesses for all documented Risk Assessments to ensure they accurately reflect residual BCP risk, including any identified weaknesses, accepted risks, and/or action plans

  • Ensure adequate plan unit/application participation in integrated exercises and large scale walkthroughs as required and action plans address deficiencies

  • Participate in and lead incident response activities for the business, including assessment calls, business communications, impact determination, and monitoring of remediation activities.

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: business support, project management, implementation, business operations or strategic planning

  • 3+ years of experience applying independent operational risk management practices with Business Continuity Management or Disaster Recovery programs

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in crisis management communications

  • Experience communicating trends and impacts to all management levels

Other Desired Qualifications

  • Demonstrated record of success in the implementation of resiliency concepts

  • Experience in operational risk, business resiliency, crisis / risk incident management, and process improvement

  • Proven written and verbal communication skills with ability to express complex concepts and processes in a straightforward manner

  • Proven ability to present important concepts to senior executives to gain buy-in

  • Experience developing and enhancing documentation and communications reports using a wide array of information sources and publishing to different audiences

  • Adaptable to rapid large scale changes in business processes and organizational structure

  • Comfortable working in a complex matrix environment with simultaneous responsibility to business line management and department, group and corporate level risk teams

Job Expectations

  • Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
