GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

We are looking for a Content Strategist to join our team. You will be responsible for content development, tactic recommendations, writing about advanced planning concepts, thought leadership, and consistent product messaging that tells a compelling story to our financial professional audience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify and create the narrative around each of our products that aids in understanding

  • Brainstorms and develops differentiating ideas, transforms these ideas into powerful and effective written communications.

  • Collaborates with multiple teams to deliver high quality, accurate content that is consistent with our brand guidelines.

  • Properly identifies audience segmentations and targets that will lead to engaging and powerful communications

  • Identifies ways to test content and learn from results

  • Gathers key business insights and applies strategic thinking to create short and long-term vision for compelling content.

  • Writes and directs content direction through multiple digital and print mediums such as brochures, presentations, email and direct mail campaigns, blog and website content.

  • Partners with graphics designers to refine and deliver an engaging story.

  • Works with outside vendors for printing and other communication activities and internal partners for various projects.

  • Performs other related work as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year College or university in journalism, communications or related field of study; and four years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

Writer Portfolio required to demonstrate skills and abilities.

  • Must have knowledge of annuity principles and products

  • Requires knowledge of Microsoft Office programs as well as possess excellent written communication skills.

  • Knowledge of AP writing style.

  • Strategic thinker who understands how their strategic and creative work contributes to an overall campaign effort.

  • Strong ability to translate strategic ideas to verbal and written form and ability to communicate brand.

  • Strong understanding of high quality journalism and how content should be promoted to a wide audience.

  • Exceptional writing skills.

  • Ability to use analytics to inform content strategy.

  • An effective collaborator who knows how to network and build effective relationships across company departments.

  • An excellent communicator who balances listening with persuasive and clearly articulated points of view.

  • Ability to read, analyzes, and interprets general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups.

  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers.

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  • Ability to multi-task and successfully handle pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment while being detailed orientated.
