Tool Designer / Tool Modeler - Waterloo, Iowa (50701)
Currently seeking a designer/modeler for a Tool Design opportunity with John Deere.
All work will be performed on-site
Plans, coordinates and performs designs for complex components and assemblies using the preferred 3-Dimensional (3D) Computer Aided Design (CAD) tool and protocols.
Duties to execute the Tool Design process for assigned projects include:
Review assigned work orders (WO)
Design concept up to 20% of project scope
Complete design modeling & complete design detailed drawings (including CAD geometry needed for manufacturing)
Notify John Deere Tool Design procurement when design is complete
Deliver build prints and review project with John Deere Tool Makers
Attend fit/function test with Tool Maker and ME present
Provide troubleshooting input as required
Update design to “As Built” prints
Constant communications with John Deere stakeholders to:
Clarify any ambiguous details and confirm project scope
Verify direction/function until concept is approved
Review final design w/ John Deere stakeholders until design is approved (prior to detailing)
Proven knowledge or technical related experience with the following and /or ability to learn quickly:
Designs completed using Creo, Smart Assembly, PDM Link, UGS TeamCenter, AutoCAD, Ansys
Complete required safety and ergonomics training
Update SAP with Electronic time entry, WO status updates
Use PDM Link for CAD file storage-retrieval
Use MS Outlook for email communication
Transfer data securely via FileZilla or John Deere approved methods
John Deere will provide necessary software training
