Function: Supply Management / Logistics

Title: Supply Management Specialist - 75470

Your Responsibilities

As a Supply Management Specialist for John Deere Waterloo Works located in Waterloo, IA, you will:

  • Manage the development and implementation of enterprise/divisional strategies, defining and integrating supply chains that support the Enterprise Order Fulfillment Process (EOFP)

  • Develop, build and maintain an ongoing relationship with assigned suppliers to monitor and improve supplier performance; measure the performance of the supplier and define corrective actions; obtain assistance from other functional representatives such as quality, product engineering, etc. as appropriate

  • Lead and/or support the negotiation of supply agreements with specific suppliers resulting in an implementation strategy, ensuring the company meets its overall goals for quality, cost and delivery

  • Utilize and develop continuous improvement in terms of performance and lowest total cost with the supply base utilizing the Achieving Excellence process/criteria and other appropriate supply management tools

  • Work with Engineers and suppliers on product specifications, making recommendations to ensure a quality product at the lowest total cost; support the Engineering Change Management (ECM) process so design changes and product improvements are implemented in a timely and cost effective manner

What Skills You Need

  • 1 or more years of Supply Management or Material Flow experience

  • 1 or more years of experience managing relationships including negotiation, communications and conflict resolution

  • Experience with the order fulfillment process

  • Ability to travel domestically and/or internationally up to 25%

What Makes You Stand Out

  • Experience in one or more areas of Supply Management

  • Experience in roles that demonstrate a working knowledge of operations in a manufacturing environment

  • 1 or more years of experience with SAP

  • Project management experience including identifying an issue, creating a plan, coordinating resources and delivering results

  • Demonstrated ability to influence without authority across different functional areas


Ideally, you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business/Management, Supply Chain Management or related discipline
