Function: Manufacturing Engineering

Title: Part-Time Student-New Product Development/Manufacturing Engineering-Waterloo IA - 74664

The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company’s regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule.

Your Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers, Product Designers, Factory Automation, and Operations teams to support the highly successful implementation of New Product Programs.

  • Process planning and project management to develop the next generation of assembly processes

  • Engage in virtual manufacturing, industrial engineering, tooling procurement, plant layout, installation of new equipment, infrastructure, and technologies

  • Identifies and implements cost reduction, quality, safety and ergonomic improvement ideas

  • Works with electronic tools to perform engineering functions.

  • Develops plans to support lean manufacturing.

    What Skills You Need

  • Ideally you will be pursuing a degree in Manufacturing Technology, Industrial Engineering, Science, Mathematics, Construction Management, technical studies preferred or previous work experience in manufacturing; others may apply

  • Must be registered as a full-time student at a local accredited university

  • Graduation date 2022 or later

  • Cumulative GPA of 2.8 or above

  • Available to work 16-20 hours weekly during the academic year

  • Available to work during the summer semester

  • Must be able to commute to the work location daily

    What Makes You Stand Out

  • Great interpersonal negotiation and conflict resolution skills

  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy

  • Experience working in a production environment

  • Experience with tractors or other commercial vehicles

  • Mechanical or electrical work experience.

  • Experience using SAP

  • CAD programs (AutoCAD or ProEngineer)

  • Python or similar programming language skills
