UnityPoint Health Medical Laboratory Scientist-ASCP in Waterloo, Iowa
The Medical Laboratory Scientist position is responsible for performing laboratory tests and analyses in the hematology, blood bank, special chemistry, chemistry and microbiology departments in the laboratory. Associate must present record of certification to the Laboratory Director within 1 year of employment and/or within 90 days of expiration of MLT/CLA certification.
The Medical Laboratory Scientist performs routine laboratory testing, laboratory specimen collection and is responsible for quality control and regular maintenance of laboratory equipment.
Qualifies as testing personnel under Federal Register 493.1489

Bachelor degree in chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology degree from an accredited institution or Qualify as Testing Personnel under Federal Register Sec 493.1489 & General Supervisor under Federal Register Sec 493.1461
Valid driver’s license when driving any vehicle for work-related reasons.
MLS/MT-ASCP or AMT (non regulatory)
Must be able to read, write and speak English
Must possess basic computer skills and knowledge using word processing, spreadsheet, email and web browser
Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.
