Job Description

Volt is looking for a Machining Engineer to work on-site with our customer John Deere in Waterloo, IA in a contingent role expecting to last 15 months. As a Machining Engineer, your responsibilities would include:

  • Support production manufacturing processes, including turning, milling, welding, and assembly operations.

  • Create and update manufacturing work instructions / documentation.

  • Develop CNC machining programs using CAM Software

  • Support continuous improvement projects improving safety/ergonomics, quality, & efficiency.

  • Develop and maintain perishable tooling data using Tool Data Management (TDM)

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or related field.

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and experience applying concepts in a production environment.

  • Experience machining cast iron product

  • Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T)

  • Statistical process control (SPC)

  • Strong analytical and trouble-shooting skills

  • Good computer and basic office software skills

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with 3D CAD and CAM software (TDM, FeatureCAM Pro/NC and/or Vericut) or equivalent

  • Experience with NC Programming

  • Experience with incentive pay systems.

  • Experience with SAP
