Trinity Health Interventional Radiology RN-Full time, Days in Waterloo, Iowa

Position Purpose:

Interventional radiology is a sub-specialty of radiology involving the use of image-guided procedures to diagnose and treat diseases in nearly every organ system. The procedures are usually minimally invasive, meaning the physician uses radiology procedures, rather than having to open the body surgically, which results in minimized risk to the patient and better outcomes. These procedures have less risk, less pain and less recovery time in comparison to open surgery.

What you will Do:

  • Check vital signs, medical history and lab results to prepare patients for procedures.

  • Insert and remove intravenous lines.

  • Administer conscious sedation drugs and other medications.

  • Oversee patient and safety and comfort before, during, and after procedures.

  • Educate patients and their families about procedures, follow-up care and discharge instructions.

Hours/Schedule:

This position is posted as full time but if you are looking for part time, we can certainly make those arrangements!

Minimum on call required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Active IA RN license

BSN preferred

No experience required

This innovative RN position could be full or part time depending on your preference. You could even have a set schedule every week. Very limited amount of call.

Through evidence-based practice, the RN utilizes critical thinking to assess, plan, implement and evaluate outcome based care of patients. The RN supervises and coordinates care provided to patients by the LPN, Patient Care Assistants and other nursing team members. The RN facilitates communication with physicians, patient and family, other departments and/or team members.
