Our focus on delivering a quality product with attention to safety, integrity and customer satisfaction has driven our success.Overview:TelCom Construction is looking for motivated employees to join our team!We are currently hiring full-time Fiber/Copper Splicers.Primary responsibilities include ability to splice/test/repair cables/wires in both indoor and outdoor settings, read, create and maintain splicing diagrams, maintain activities surrounding the assigned work site(s), and taking splicing field notes.Responsibilities:Performs tasks associated with the electronic upgrade and splicing of cableTest, activate, and troubleshoot equipment after installationBasic daily maintenance of provided vehicle: check fluids, clean and organize vehicleSelf-supervise all operations to ensure that all splicing operations are completed in accordance with customer and industry specificationsSafely operate and use bucket truck to complete daily construction assignments as needed (potentially climb poles)Field train and control/oversee the work of other Splicers when necessaryComplete daily production reports, mark-up maps, keep track of work hours, complete "as-built maps" for areas built and track daily productionReconcile all issued parts and materials on a daily basis to ensure accurate material usage counts.Frequently work independentlyPerforms general clean upProvides accurate daily timekeepingOther splicing related duties as assignedQualifications:Must have previous experience splicing fiber optic and/or copper cableAbility to distinguish colorsMust be able to read and build from blueprints and/or wire diagramsHave knowledge of telecommunications network structureMust have a high school diploma or equivalentPossess a valid driver's license or be eligible and willing to obtain the required license for the positionMust maintain a current DOT health certificateClass A CDL is a plus (higher wage scales apply to CDL holders)Ability to work in emergencies at night and weekends if neededAbility to be on an on-call rotationRegular out-of-town travel as requiredPreferred Qualifications:Certified pole climber or capable of demonstrating proficiency as a pole climber preferredPhysical Requirements:Must be able to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs as needed with or without assistanceMust be able to work in all weather conditionsWhy Should You Apply:Training provided upon obtaining employment for CDL LicenseWe offer paid lodging, a daily per diem when overnight travel is required and we also provide company vehicles for crew's use to get to and from job sitesCompetitive CompensationComprehensive benefit package including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Short and Long-term disability insurance, 401k retirement plan with company match and tuition reimbursementPaid time offUp to 7 paid annual HolidaysNew and updated trucks and equipmentApplicants are required to pass all company drug testing, submit to a background check and adhere to all OSHA, state, city/municipality safety requirements and training provided by the company as required.!To apply for this opportunity, please visit our career page at Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind including, based on disability and protected veteran status.
