Description:

Position Purpose:

Responsible for transporting and transferring patients to and from specified areas in a safe and professional manner. Maintains carts, wheelchairs, linens, and oxygen tanks and supplies. Acquires patient histories, assist patients to complete safety questionnaires, positions imaging coils and other imaging devices before scans are started, access patient scheduling programs and assist with scheduling add-on patients. Adheres to MercyOne's performance expectations and performs all defined services and other related duties in accordance with the mission, vision and values of MercyOne.

What you will Do:

Direct Patient Care and Patient Safety

Provides patient education

Maintains carts, wheelchairs, linens, and O2 tanks and supplies.

Adheres to all safety, infection control and employee health policies and procedures

Based on principles of growth and development, provides care appropriate to the age related needs of the patients served on his/her assigned unit which may include:

Birth – 28 days Neonate

1 – 18 Months Infant

18 Months – 3 Years Toddler

3 – 6 Years Preschool-aged

6 – 12 Years School-aged

12 – 18 Years Adolescents

18 – 65 Years Adults

65+ Years Geriatric

Hours/Schedule:

PRN As Needed, As Available

Minimum Qualifications:

Requires the ability to read, write and understand the English language, and communicate effectively with patients, visitors, staff and physicians while performing their job duties.

• Good communication and time management skills required.

• Requires physical stamina and strength as well as the ability to work efficiently under stressful conditions while maintaining expected standards of care.

• Demonstrates flexibility and dependability.

• Must be able to meet MRI guidelines to work in the MRI and radiation environment
