Your Responsibilities

The Utility Tractor Vehicle Engineering team is looking for an engineer to design, develop, and implement new tractor features. The engineering team supports utility tractor cooling, exhaust, structures, hoods, fuel tanks and line routings for 5E 4 cylinder, 5M and 5R tractors. As a Design Engineer for John Deere Product Engineering Center located in Waterloo, Iowa, you will:

  • Collaborate with manufacturing, supply management, service, and quality teams to design, develop, and implement parts for Utility Tractor Product Development Programs.

  • Resolution of corrective action requests from testing, field, supplier, & manufacturing teams.

  • Order and support trial fits for prototype parts and builds.

  • Collaborate with Product Verification and Validation to test design solutions.

What Skills You Need

  • 3 or more years of experience in engineering or technical field.

  • 3 or more years of experience in collaborating with a cross functional team to develop and implement design changes.

  • 3 or more years of experience in leading discussions to resolve corrective action requests.

What Makes You Stand Out

  • 3 or more years of experience with the design and part release.

  • 3 or more years of experience with Creo Parametric.


Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural or Mechanical Engineering
