As a Senior Robotics Systems Engineer of Automation & Autonomy Solutions, for the John Deere Intelligent Solutions Group (ISG-Urbandale), you will be the technical lead for software and data solutions to support robotic products that use perception sensing and cameras to utilize machine learning or image processing. In addition, you will:
B e a lead system engineer for Automation Core services. This role involves solution design, solution requirements, project planning, monitoring, and developing other engineers that work on automation related projects for John Deere vehicles.
Provide overall engineering direction for ISG team members.
Ensure that the processes are understood and are being executed on Product Delivery Programs as expected.
Provide technical leadership to employees within the team.
Assist in the resolution of complex technical issues within the department as they arise.
Maintain a high-performance work culture.
What Skills You Need
5 or more years of experience in Precision Ag or Embedded Software technologies delivering embedded solutions
Three or more years of experience working at various levels in the design, test, or coordination of software focused projects
Previous experience working closely with or developing C or C++ software algorithms for embedded solutions.
Experience in roles that demonstrate your ability to communicate effectively with both technical staff and customers
Willingness and ability to travel, up to 25% (both domestic or internationally)
What Makes You Stand Out
Experience in supervision and budget management
Technical lead experience related to precision farming, perception, robotics, image processing, deep learning, and machine learning
Advanced degree(s) in technology related disciplines
Ideally you will have a degree or equivalent related work experience in the following:
Bachelor's degree in an Engineering, Science or Technology related discipline
