John Deere is currently hiring for an Embedded Cyber Security Architect. Cyber security is an increasingly important aspect of our modern and connected vehicle systems. In this role as an Embedded Cyber Security Architect, you will help John Deere defend its intelligent and connected vehicles from adversaries by designing cutting edge embedded security technologies into onboard systems. You will provide technical leadership to embedded engineering groups across the company to design the infrastructure that enables security features in our vehicles.
In addition, you will also:
Drive embedded cybersecurity requirements into new product programs
Develop threat models using industry best practices
Lead the adoption of embedded cryptography capabilities
Provide coaching and mentoring to others within the technical discipline
Solve complex problems pertaining to on-board cyber security threats
What Skills You Need
5+ years of experience with embedded systems engineering and/or IoT systems
Experience with vehicle network architecture, modules, and protocols (CAN etc.)
Experience with applying cryptographic concepts in the embedded space
Experience interpreting and applying standards and specifications in the embedded space
Understanding of vehicle security frameworks and standards (e.g. ISO 21434)
Ability to collaborate with multiple technical and business stakeholders globally
What Makes You Stand Out
Experience with public key encryption (PKI) in the embedded space
Experience executing vehicle cyber security assessments (TARA or others)
Experience with embedded Linux and other Real Time Operating Systems (RTOS)
Experience with industry security frameworks such as NIST
Advanced Degree in a related field
Ideally, you will have the following degree, or equivalent work experience.
Bachelor's degree Computer Engineering, Cyber Security / Security Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
Advanced degree is a plus
