ROSENBOOM MACHINE and TOOL Supplier Quality Engineer in SPIRIT LAKE, Iowa

The Supplier Quality Engineer works with suppliers in a team environment for the purpose of developing and implementing best practices that emphasize defect prevention, reduction in variation and waste, and provide for continuous improvements in meeting Rosenboom's customer requirements.Essential Duties and Responsibilities[1]:Works closely with Supply Chain and Engineering Leaders to support selection of best Supplier candidates for development and/or consolidation opportunities.Contributes significantly to support and upgrade Rosenboom Quality Systems requirements with suppliers.Verifies compliance and effectiveness of the quality system by performing supplier audits,Participates in the supplier selection process by reviewing suppliers' manufacturing processes and, as appropriate, observing suppliers' manufacturing environment,Directs the process for checking for product flaws through the incoming materials inspection process and while conducting on-site vendor audits,Directs the process for conducting tests and assessments of product batches to identify quality issues and recurring errors,Conducts supplier visits on behalf of Rosenboom. Works to develop understanding of how suppliers work, keeps suppliers accountable to commitments, develops supplier capabilities and supplier improvements in a collaborative approach,Facilitates root cause analysis, follow-up, and closure of non-conformances and their related corrective actions for supplier quality issues,Collects data and maintains detailed reports specific to supplier quality and performanceFacilitates the escalation of unresolved supplier quality issues within the scope of assigned projects May provide technical guidance and advice to suppliers,Guidance may range from advice on process enhancement to suggestions to overall production and manufacturing elements to reduce defect rates. The Supplier Quality Engineer works closely with the supplier to incorporate these recommendations.Serves as a liaison between Rosenboom senior management and vendors: May meet with both parties to identify issues in supplier quality and work toward a solution.May gather information from both parties, as appropriate, to support the flow of information.Interfaces with Engineering, Quality Assurance, Customer Accounts, Product Service, and other departments, as appropriate, to define user needs, deliver product to specification, measure department performance, and report results,Participates in the new product development process, as appropriate,Participates in a formal cost reduction program with annual targets and objectives; works to mitigate negative cost impacts, Is a productive member of his/her department and adheres to, promotes, and enforces all Rosenboom policies, including safety requirements/procedures, to ensure a safe working environment for all Rosenboom employees,Habits of good attendance and punctuality are an essential responsibility of all Rosenboom job positions.EOE-Veteran's and Disabilitiesi
