1 - First Shift

The Sales Inventory and Operations Planning (SIOP) Demand Planner collaborates with sales team members to develop the organizational demand plan/sales forecast for assigned business units to maximize revenue opportunities through improved strategic analysis and recommendations. This position works with cross functional teams to understand customer demand and timeline requirements. This role grows revenue and profitability through improved line planning decision support, forecast accuracy, and reduced supply chain costs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Exhibit the Vermeer characteristics of caring culture, demonstrating agility, customer focused and stewardship while modeling the associated behaviors.

  2. Develop and manage a forward looking (12-24 months) aggregated demand plan for each assigned business unit. Track demand plan accuracy.

    1. Partner with sales, marketing, market-based strategies, corporate accounts, regional managers, and regional offices to gather market and forecast data.

    2. Participate in the monthly 5 step sales inventory operations planning (SIOP) process.

    3. Perform monthly root cause analysis to identify sources of controllable forecast error and mitigate in future forecasts.

    Education and/or Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or Supply Chain with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in sales, production, or procurement.

    Other Skills and Abilities

    • Strong analytical and cognitive skills.
  • Ability to lead development and implementation of initiatives.

    • Experience in driving business process improvement initiatives.

    • Excellent interpersonal relationship building and teamwork skills.

    • Strong project management experience.

    • Detailed understanding of the SIOP process steps.

    • Experience with data visualization and reporting tools such as Power BI and Excel.

    • Ability to utilize data analysis and statistical forecasting tools on a daily/weekly basis.

    • Demonstration of good oral and written communication skills, including meeting facilitation and presentation.

    • Ability to effectively communicate and work with individuals at all levels of the organization.


Up to 5% domestic and/or international travel by car or plane may be required.

Work Location

ONSITE: A team member’s day-to-day work is best done on a Vermeer campus. If work content can be occasionally completed at an offsite location, discuss potential arrangements with your manager.
