Work Shift

1 - First Shift

The Senior Systems Administrator creates, secures, monitors and troubleshoots server/storage systems, operating systems, cloud systems and server applications all while providing high level customer service to end users.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Demonstrate the Vermeer characteristics of caring culture, demonstrating agility, customer focused, and stewardship and model the associated behaviors.

  2. Drive automation of server/storage configurations with the use of scripting and containers.

  3. Provide support and insight to network administrators, systems administrators, business analysts and service desk personnel to achieve excellent customer service.

  4. Troubleshoot and manage application changes and install new business applications.

  5. Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, Iaas, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, to achieve high service and security levels.

  6. Install/manage infrastructure including virtual servers, cloud services (Iaas, Paas), and configure services, settings, directories, storage, applications, etc. in accordance with security standards and project/operational requirements.

  7. Develop performance and capacity analysis and plans. Perform ongoing performance turning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required.

    Education and/or Experience

  • 4-year college degree with a major in Computer Science or equivalent.

  • Minimum 5 years related computer systems experience and/or training; and/or combination of education and experience.

    Other Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge in the area(s) of systems integration; understanding of computer hardware systems along with application program integration concept; knowledge of LINUX and Microsoft server.

  • Knowledge of networking protocols; knowledge of TCP/IP and networking; ability to lay out systems logically to determine how they integrate.

  • Ability to maintain server reliability as measured by total of all server uptime.

  • Ability to provide informative and professional assistance when working with the public/customers and co-workers; ability to provide excellent internal customer service; availability to be on-call for serious problems during off-shift hours is required, e.g., ability to respond within a 30-minute timeframe when on-call.

  • Ability to maintain positive interpersonal relationships, which encourage openness with customers and peers; ability to develop interpersonal relationships with co-workers, staff, clients and the community to meet or exceed expectations.

  • Demonstration of excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstration of attention to detail and a high sense of accuracy; ability to create accurate, professional and error-free documents; ability to type and enter data accurately.

  • Demonstration of strong organizational skills; ability to work effectively under extreme stress; ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.

    Travel

Up to 10% domestic and/or international travel by car or plane may be required.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------IAM SPECIFIC SKILLS AND ABILITIES:- Extensive knowledge in Linux administration.- Solid understanding of APIs utilizing JSON, XML, REST and SOAP. - Experience implementing solutions with IAM platforms such as Okta, NetIQ, Ping Identity, AzureAD, etc. - Previous experience building SSO solutions with protocols such as SAML, OpenID, and OAuth. - Experience with .NET, PowerShell, Python, Ruby, SQL - API Management Experience with Axway, Amplify Cloud, and/or Mulesoft preferred. - PKI / Certificate Management preferred.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
