1 - First Shift

Through strong operational leadership, the Senior Manager, Human Resources (HR) Business Operations and Total Rewards is responsible for the company’s HR technology strategy, utilization of meaningful talent insights, effective HR project management and managing a comprehensive total rewards strategy.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  1. Lead through the Vermeer characteristics of caring culture, demonstrating agility, customer focused, and stewardship and model the associated behaviors. Manage assigned team members in performance of their duties. Establish and monitor individual and team goals which are aligned with the organization’s business strategies and objectives and ensure department is properly serving its internal and external customers and meeting defined expectations.

  2. Build the team, set the direction and manage the day-to-day deliverables for functional areas of responsibility.

  3. Ensure operational effectiveness to scale the team’s impact; build processes and systems to support what the company needs today and in the future. Anticipate, innovate and respond quickly as business and market realities change, staying current on best practices and trends and applicable legislation. Advise management on needed actions.

  4. Partner closely with HR and business leaders on day-to-day operations and strategic level decisions.

  5. Support merger, acquisition, and reorganization activities as required.

  6. Drive organization’s global total rewards philosophy, strategy and execution that aligns with business growth goals and priorities. Design and deliver compensation, benefits and well-being programs for the company; work with regionalized businesses to meet their team members’ unique needs.

  7. Gain a deep understanding of our team members, including their personal and professional needs, so we can best equip them for their life at work and beyond. Work closely with the business to ensure that total rewards programs are understood and motivating at all levels of the organization.

  8. Working with other members of the HR leadership team, provide strategic direction, leadership, planning and execution of current and future technology platforms. Build and communicate roadmap for digitalization of HR.

  9. Oversee and enhance HR analytics, dashboards, indicators, metrics and reporting, and recommend solutions to improve attraction, retention and engagement.

  10. Proactively support the effective and efficient delivery of HR projects through the management of the HR project management function .

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related area.

  • Minimum 10 years progressive total rewards and HR operations experience.

Other Skills and Abilities

  • Strong leadership skills with a proven ability to motivate, develop, and support a broad team across multiple functional areas.

  • Lead authentically and influence progress for the HR operations and total rewards units, as well as for the organization as a whole

  • Deep expertise in functional areas of responsibility with a service- and business-oriented mindset.

  • Advanced knowledge of HR systems and technology and demonstrated ability to leverage technology to maximize organizational capability.

  • Broad understanding of Total Rewards components and desire and ability to remain abreast of total rewards trends and practices to ensure the most competitive strategy.

  • Strong business acumen, with understanding of the role of compensation and benefits to support business growth and anticipate future needs of the organization.

  • Full working knowledge and understanding of HR legislation/employment law, policies and procedures.

  • Basic understanding of domestic social systems for medical and health care, along with a basic understanding of how insurance works in tandem with these social programs.

  • Experience in effectively managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders in a highly matrixed business environment.

  • Ability to influence, engage and partner across all levels of the organization.

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Ability to adapt to effectively anticipate and meet changing business needs in an ever-changing business environment and competitive landscape.

  • Demonstrated agility in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment; can manage ambiguity and competing priorities through effective time-management, organizational and prioritization skills.

  • Ability to influence, engage and partner across all levels of the organization.

  • Demonstration of excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Ability to effectively work with confidential information.
