Pella Regional Health Center Registered Nurse-Surgery in Pella, Iowa
Become a part of a dynamic, positive Perioperative team by providing safe, competent care for patients during the Perioperative process. Highly motivated individual with previous experience in the Perioperative setting circulating, scrubbing and preferably robotic skills. Will work in a fast-paced environment of care where patient safety and satisfaction are of utmost importance. Duties include age-specific assessment with the ability to prepare the operating room for all procedures, adhere to strict aseptic technique and follow proper intraoperative procedures for assisting the surgeons. Other duties require the ability to perform postoperative recovery and provide nursing interventions as needed, know the medication reconciliation process, handoff communication, and are proficient in electronic charting; also will cross-train to outpatient admissions. This position requires ACLS, PALS, and BLS certified, working varied hours and call is required for the position.

Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities:
Graduate of an accredited RN program; BSN preferred.
Current registration and licensure in the State of Iowa as an RN. Must be in good standing with the Board of Nursing.
Current American Heart Association (AHA) Heart Code BLS required. New employees certify within three (3) months after hire date.
Current PALS and ACLS certifications. (New employees should obtain per guidelines of the Education Course Requirements policy.)
Nursing experience in a hospital setting preferred.
Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
High degree of empathetic listening skills, tact and kindness toward others.
Ability to communicate well verbally. Must work effectively as a member of a team.
Basic computer knowledge
Technical and critical thinking skills in relation to sound nursing judgment.
Knowledge of nursing practices as they relate to the care of the elderly.
