Job Summary

Are you the type of person who likes to execute and improve manufacturing processes, solve problems, and drive business results? In this role you will engage in manufacturing projects and processes, learn multiple areas of manufacturing, and prepare yourself for a permanent role in manufacturing, quality, continuous improvement, or process engineering. We’re looking for engineers with a technical background that can be applied in multiple disciplines within manufacturing.

What You’ll Do

  1. Join a pool of operations-focused engineers to prepare for an initial assignment.

  2. Onboard via critical Vermeer operations and engineering training.

  3. Support projects that sustain and improve manufacturing and product performance.

  4. Tackle problems, identify root causes, and lead the implementation of permanent solutions.

  5. Engage in the development of systems, processes, and controls that enable manufacturing success.

  6. Assess and implement new and emerging technologies in manufacturing to improve safety, quality, and productivity.

What We’re Looking For

  • Four-year college degree in Industrial Engineering, Industrial Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering field; or other two or four-year college degree with a minimum of two years of related experience with product, quality, or manufacturing process development.

  • Understanding of lean manufacturing / six-sigma in addition to problem-solving tools and processes (PDCA, 8D, 5-why, DMAIC), coupled with the drive and desire to find a better way within a manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to read and understand mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic drawings; basic understanding of GD&T.

  • Basic knowledge of statistical tools and analysis.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite, CAD / SolidWorks, and other software.

  • Knowledge of assembly and welding techniques.

  • ASQ, APICS or similar certifications preferred.

Travel

  • Occasional travel is expected of this position.

Work Location

ONSITE: A team member’s day-to-day work is best done on a Vermeer campus. If work content can be occasionally completed at an offsite location, discuss potential arrangements with your manager.
