1 - First Shift
The Director of Product Lifecycle Management is responsible for the overall strategic leadership of the integrated global product lifecycle management process, system, workstreams, procedures, and training. The Director of PLM will lead a team of PLM sub-process owners and interface with the engineering and business stakeholders, efficiently driving the company’s innovation and including the assurance of compliance to Tier 4 emission standards and other regulatory requirements.

Lead by exhibiting the Vermeer characteristics of caring culture, demonstrating agility, customer focused and stewardship while modeling the associated behaviors. Supervise, organize, and mentor and coach assigned team members in performance of their duties while influencing others to carry the Vermeer culture forward. Establish and monitor individual and team goals which are aligned with the organization’s strategies and objectives to drive key business results. Use expertise to ensure department is serving its internal and external customers and meeting defined expectations. 2. Lead, develop, engage, and mentor the organization in implementing world-class PLM systems and processes. Influence across business functions to ensure high level goals and objectives are being met. Build a compelling 3–5-year roadmap of process/system improvements and chart a path to execute against that roadmap and vision.
Establish the strategic engineering data model for the company, defining the end-to-end flow of product information.
Stay current with current industry PLM trends and technologies to keep Vermeer at the forefront of PLM. Develop and nurture external relationships ensuring company approach reflects thought leadership from inside and outside Vermeer.
Manage and coordinate all activities related to product introductions, equipment and test specifications, and manufacturing tooling design. Establish, prioritize, and drive new product introduction (NPI) objectives and initiatives to align with corporate objectives and initiatives. Ensure that NPI projects are closely managed and reported on and necessary actions are taken to keep them on track.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a STEM, information management or other related field required.
MS degree in relevant discipline with a minimum of 10+ year experience, or a BS with 15+ years of relevant experience preferred.
Relevant experience in driving organizational change management to adopt new engineering systems, tools, and processes.
Other Skills and Abilities
Proven ability to serve as the trusted advisor and subject matter expert for PLM.
Demonstrated ability to balance longer term strategic thinking against more tactical execution of shorter-term deliverables.
Demonstrated experience developing innovative products that successfully address customer and regulatory needs, with wide adoption.
Ability to collaborate with sales, engineering, and legal leaders to develop and assure proper development and execution of PLM master plans and performance metrics.
Budgeting and coordinating the company-wide PLM requirements to assure a compliant, efficient, and effective system.
Aligning resources, seeking the input of internal and external key stakeholders, and driving others to achieve desired results.
Deep understanding of 3D CAD modeling.
Deep understanding of Siemens, Dassault, Aras, or PTC PLM systems and best practices for flowing engineering changes through those systems.
Occasional travel is expected of this position.
