Musco Sports Lighting is currently seeking to hire a Master Electrician in Oskaloosa. The individual selected for this role will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of building automation, fire alarm, and lighting control systems at multiple Musco facilities in Oskaloosa and other areas in the company footprint.


  • Oversee all facets of the Building Automation System by making recommendations for system upgrades and improvements, coordinating with the HVAC department to ensure the system meets their needs, and evaluating with them to ensure the system is operating at peak performance levels

  • Oversee and maintain all facets of the Lighting Control System by making recommendations for system upgrades and improvements. Ensure that the system meets company needs and that it is operating at peak performance levels

  • Oversee and maintain all facets of the Fire Detection System by ensuring that yearly tests are performed on each system and coordinating and interfacing with Siemens Call Center for system monitoring

  • Ensure all TVSS are installed on all electrical systems and that they report alarm conditions through the notification system

  • Assist and coordinate with the Electrical department in scheduling and prioritizing workloads

  • Provide supervision to outside contractors to ensure the projects flow smoothly to keep them on target and on budget; Ensure lead times for materials and supplies for projects will mesh together by the completion date set at the start of each project

  • Assist Facilities department as needed

  • Estimate project costs to ensure the best needs of the Team are being met; control costs of equipment or supplies needed for projects to comply with yearly budget requirements

  • Maintain filing system of each project to track schedules, supplies and costs for future reference

  • Resource person on the building history and key locations of utilities throughout the facilities

Desired Qualifications

  • High school diploma

  • Associate degree from tech school or equivalent electronic/electrical experience.

  • Experience in Building Automation Systems, Siemens fire protection

  • Ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple projects and complete them within the desired time frames

  • Ability to read blueprints and shop drawings

  • Works well in team or works well unsupervised

  • Ability to delegate and/or work under pressure on multiple tasks at once

  • Self starter – highly motivated - positive person

  • Budgeting – Filing - Documentation skills

  • Good communications skills both verbal and computer

  • Ability to work in the field on specific projects as required with other trades
