  • Weekend on-call $100
  • From Friday Night 5:30pm-Saturday 7:00am
  • Weekend rate to include: $500
  • Saturday 8:30am-12:30pm as regular x-ray hours
  • Saturday 7:00am-8:30am on-call/call back
  • Saturday 12:30pm-Sunday 6:00pm on-call/call back
  • Weekend on-call $100
  • From Sunday Night 6:00pm-Monday 7:00am
  • Non-weekend hourly rate (training/extra week shifts) Rate of pay increases with credit with the base rate being $20.50
  • If unable to fulfill the entire weekend schedule, compensation will be paid at the non-weekend hourly rate for actual hours worked.
  • You agree to work one weekend a month, except in extenuating circumstances, discussed with Imaging Services Director

JOB SUMMARY The Diagnostic Radiographer will provide patient care by producing diagnostic radiographs for interpretation by the radiologists in the Imaging Services Department at Mitchell County Regional Health Center.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS A. Completes all diagnostic procedures as described in the diagnostic policy and procedure manual. B. Instructs student technologists and peers as required. C. Identifies and safely transports patients to and from the Imaging Services Department. D. Processes exposed radiographs in a subdued lighting atmosphere in a down time. E. Demonstrates competency of image management and completes department-related Radiology Information System (RIS), Healthland, Picture Archiving and communication System (PACS), RA600, and all Radiographic Equipment. F. Monitors diagnostic area for safety and uses safe radiation practices. G. Participates in continuing education that enhances job performance. H. Performs consent process with appropriate patients and insures all documents are completed before initiation of exam. I. Assumes responsibility for film management/image management. J. Assists with quality assurance procedures and maintains all records. K. Secures and stocks diagnostic rooms with department supplies and ensures proper patient billing. L. Maintains orderliness and cleanliness of work-related area and ensures equipment is in working condition. M. Performs venipuncture on adolescent through geriatric age patients. N. Assumes responsibility for the entire Imaging Services area in the absence of the Director of Imaging Services O. Utilizes effective communication skills and promotes good working relationships. P. Communicates with and performs duties following Mitchell County Regional Health Centers Guiding Behavior Expectations. Q. Provides competent patient care to the above indicated patient populations by obtaining and appropriately interpreting data, making appropriate decisions based on demonstrated knowledge of age-specific growth and development, and appropriately adapting procedures and treatments. R. Provides excellent customer service to all internal and external customers. S. Supports and abides by all medical center, departmental, and safety policies and procedures. T. Acts in a professional manner reflection the mission, vision, and values of Mitchell County Regional Health Center. U. Performs other responsibilities as requested by the Director of Imaging Services and/or Administration team. V. Regular and reliable attendance is expected.

ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS A. Assists in the daily operation of the Diagnostic Area within the Imaging Services Department. B. Performs clerical duties as required i.e., scheduling, filing, paperwork, ect. C. Will perform and/or assist in the completion of procedures in Computed Tomography (CT), Mammography, DEXA, and general x-ray. D. Will be required to take call and be within 20 minutes for call back.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS A. Education: 1. Shall be credentialed in Radiography by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or registry-eligible. B. Experience: 1. No experience is required. C. Special Skills, Competencies, and Aptitudes 1. Must possess a current Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) Permit to Practice in Radiology. 2. Must be flexible for the staffing of all shifts, weekends, holidays, and call duties. 3. Must provide proof of Basic Life Support-American Heart Association (BLS Healthcare Provider) prior to employment and continue to maintain current certification in BLS. 4. Complete Mandatory Reporting requirement within 90 days of hire. 5. Renew Mandatory Reporting requirements every 5 years.

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL/COGNITIVE REQUIREMENTS 1. This individual must be able to stand and walk continuously. 2. This person must have good visual, auditory, and verbal activity. 3.
