University of Iowa Community Credit Union Vice President/Reporting, Finance & Analytics in North Liberty, Iowa

Position Summary

This position will report to the EVP/Chief Financial Officer and will enjoy a high level of impact to a rapidly growing organization. The ideal candidate will be a passionate, hard-working finance professional with proven technical skills in financial planning and analysis, strong accounting background, and the ability to work cross-functionally in a dynamic and fast paced environment.

Salary range for this position is $134,652.60 - $201,978.90 with a progressive benefit package.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Performs essential duties and responsibilities in the following areas which may include, but are not limited to those listed, and are subject to change:

  • Adheres to the Credit Union's core values and Service Standards in carrying out GreenState's mission and vision.

  • Demonstrates teamwork in all interactions with coworkers and in the completion of all duties and responsibilities.

  • Ensures confidentiality of member information.

  • Supports a diverse and inclusive work environment.

  • Drives the core Reporting, Finance and Analytic processes for the Credit Union, including, actuals, plans and forecasts.

  • Acts as a trusted advisor to the CFO. Proactively collaborates, influences, and aligns the company’s planning processes to achieve the overall company results.

  • Collaborates with IT and Accounting resources to deliver financial reports and key metrics to Company Leadership and Board of Directors on a regular basis using Power BI platform.

  • Leads efforts to develop expense control models and analysis reporting results to Executive Team.

  • Partners with leadership to develop models, and analytics that provide important insights into our business and guide short- and long-term execution of our strategic plan.

  • Performs a range of ad-hoc analyses pertaining to a broad range of business activities/models, and including but not limited to, industry trends/benchmark comparisons, mergers and acquisitions, strategic initiatives, real estate leases, and capital investments.

  • Performs variance analysis, develop associated action plans with key business partners, and monitor/measure results of these actions.

  • Reviews existing Accounting and Finance processes with an eye towards automation and efficiency.

  • Participates in industry groups to share best practices; researches industry trends and emerging technologies to be evaluated and considered for the Credit Union.

  • Establishes and maintains strategic relationships with third parties with whom the Credit Union may partner or utilize for advice or consultation.

  • Plays a vital role in enriching the community by participating in community service organizations and/or credit union sponsored events, on an annual basis.

Job Requirements/Expectations

  • Four (4) year college degree in finance or related field. MBA would be highly recommended, but not required.

  • Ten plus years of experience in a related field are required.

  • Hands on experience developing and refining annual operating.

  • Ability to work across all functional areas to understand needs and collaboratively build/maintain a financial plan that aligns with the company’s short- and long-term strategic priorities and financial objectives.

  • Extremely strong financial modeling, planning, forecasting and analysis skills; solid foundation in finance and GAAP accounting.

  • Ability to draw important insights from analysis; understand and communicate the “story behind the numbers”; and work collaboratively with colleagues to react to findings.

  • Experience providing decision support for a range of projects, investments, and strategic initiatives.

  • Strong project management and organizational skills with demonstrated ability to initiate and coordinate detailed tasks and timelines across multiple business functions required.

  • Ability, availability, and willingness to work flexible hours to accomplish workload. During periods of peak demand, job will require a non-traditional workweek with extra hours including evening and/or weekend duties.

  • Interpersonal skills to diplomatically deal with employees of all levels, and to represent the credit union in a positive way during member contact.

  • Ability to prioritize assignments and organize work efficiently, to handle large volumes of detail.

  • Ability to deal tactfully and efficiently with members and co-workers on a professional level.

  • Must be bondable.

Reporting Relationship

This position reports to the Executive Vice President/Chief Financial Officer.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position is not responsible for the supervision of employees.
