Position Overview:
The Staff Accountant is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-growing company. The newly created position will assume daily and monthly accounting tasks already performed by our staff and will be based out of our Corporate Office in New Hampton, IA. The ideal candidate will have three years of accounting experience, strong analytical and processing skills, and will be team-oriented with excellent communication skills. Experience in a construction-related field would be beneficial. This is a full-time position, reports to the Controller, and has no supervisory responsibility.

Essential Duties and Functions:
Prepare and post journal entries, by ensuring and maintaining proper back-up documentation
Collect, review, and post data from operations
Reconcile Balance Sheet accounts
Contribute to the team effort by meeting monthly close and other deadlines
Assist with year-end audits and regulatory filings
Proactive self-starter with strong organizational skills
Analyze, report, and validate key data by maintaining or developing spreadsheet reports or utilizing our software solution programs
Collaborate with team members to ensure compliance with accounting principles, internal controls, and regulations
Be prompt and timely for all assigned schedules and projects
Willing to work until 5 pm and sometimes outside of normal business hours
Perform other duties as apparent or assigned
Cross-train with applicable positions
Position Requirements:
Consent to authorization of a pre-employment background check and drug test
Minimum 3 years of experience
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; or applicable experience
PC proficiency (specifically Microsoft applications) and strong Excel skills
High level of reasoning abilities (i.e. Meeting deadlines, Prioritize company and customer needs, serving as a leader to peers)
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Strong interpersonal skills to communicate with management, field operations, and co-workers in a professional manner
Handle any sensitive information in a confidential manner
Self-directed and motivated to exceed expectations
Trainable
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
