The Construction Cost Estimator develops and checks cost estimates for a variety of architectural, civil, industrial, institutional, and utility type projects. Overtime as needed. Some travel possible.Essential duties include:Prepares material take-offs and reviews take-offs of others from planning documents or engineering drawings.Prepares detailed breakdown of components and elements of estimates for systems and subsystems.Accumulates, evaluates, and documents historical cost data for the development of future estimates.Prepares and/or reviews final Engineer's estimate.Reviews contract documents and contract modifications to determine scope of work and equitable cost allowance for scope changes.RequirementsBachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or related fieldRequires 0 - 3 years of relevant experienceMust possess the ability to read construction documentationPrevious construction experience is a plusMust possess strong PC skills and familiarity with Microsoft ExcelExperience in scheduling and use of scheduling software is a plusEqual Opportunity Employer: Minorities, Women, Veterans, Disabilities.Equal Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with DisabilitiesThe contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.
