    Cornell College invites applications for a full-time staff accountant/payroll coordinator. This position is responsible for processing all payroll for the college, assisting with the budget process, and providing backup for deposits and accounts receivable duties. This position also compiles and reconciles data for year-end financial and insurance audits, reconciles and reports grant activity, creates and maintains monthly and year-end payroll accruals, and prepares, balances, and remits timely reports such as federal 941, state withholding forms, and unemployment.

    Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, finance, or related field with a minimum of three years of recent payroll experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Preferred skills include organizational skills and attention to detail; previous experience with Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains software; working knowledge of current federal and state payroll laws, regulations, and filing requirements; spreadsheet and reconciliation expertise; ability to communicate, both written and oral, effectively; ability to interact professionally and maintain confidentiality.
