Responsibilities

The Registered NurseAdvancedfunctions as a vital member of the healthcare team who contributes to the success the practice by demonstrating customer/patient focus, effective communication, professionalism, and teamwork. Spends 40% or more of time on an annual basisassisting the physician through documentation of specific components of the patient visit and executing specified physician instructions within the framework of the policy and procedures of the Clinic.Will utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate comprehensive care provided to selected patient populations and their families.

  • Performs/directs patient care services including, but not limited to, admission interview, accurate documentation and timely patient flow.

  • Accompanies the physician into the exam room or is connected remotely by audio for the patient visit documenting in the electronic medical record (EMR) all aspects of care to include chief complaint (CC), history of presenting illness (HPI), physical exam (PE) and patient plan as directed by the physician.

  • Works directly with physician to ensure the patient visit is appropriately documented.

  • Develops an understanding of physician practice patterns and key terms used by the physician to ensure efficient and accurate real time documentation of patient visit.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.

  • Current/valid Registered Nurse license from the state licensing board required.

  • May be required to have additional specialty certifications.

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required

  • Advanced Care Life Support (ACLS) required.

  • 1 year related experience in a specialty clinic (e.g. Oncology, Neurology, Cardiology, etc.) required.
