Description:

Under general supervision, is accountable and responsible for analyzing, preparing and directing long and short range operational and financial strategies, management and programs for MercyOne Home Care service lines. Ensures the availability of planning and financial resources and incorporates knowledge of internal and external forces into fiscal strategies and plans. Develops systems for inventory/supply control, productivity and utilization. Provides data, ongoing monitoring and discussion with physicians and staff to promote continuous quality improvement.

  • Assesses, plans, organizes and evaluates the quality of patient care with specific consideration of the age specific, developmental, and cultural needs of the populations served.

  • Promotes achievement of best practice in access, technology, service and coordination of information between providers/services.

  • Provides leadership in the development, implementation and evaluation of unit/service goals and monitoring outcomes, in order to accomplish strategic objectives and support the mission.

  • Makes decisions based on knowledge, experience and the ability to forecast using information management and relevant data.

  • Provides leadership and promotes staff involvement in continuous quality improvement activities.

  • Develops, coordinates, and conducts safety orientation programs for new employees and mandatory in-service programs for existing employees.

  • Ensures risk management principles and practices are implemented.

  • Ensures the confidentiality of information pertaining to patients, physicians, employees and visitors is maintained.

  • Assists with defining and guiding patient care practice, including incorporating research findings and the development and implementation of policies and procedures.

  • Establishes and/or ensures staff adherence to standards and regulatory agency requirements.

  • Provides for and is accountable for the overall financial status of HME including HR management, billing and collections.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor degree in Business Administration or Health Administration required with a minimum of 3-5 years of third party reimbursement experience. Related master's degree preferred.

  • Minimum of 1-2 years progressive supervisory or leadership experience required.

  • Must demonstrate well-developed communication and interpersonal skills to provide effective interface with clients, professional clinical staff and all other related MercyOne Home Care staff.

  • Required to travel within the Siouxland region in order to perform job duties and responsibilities as assigned. A valid drivers license and proof of insurance must be submitted by the employee to their manager and will be maintained throughout employment.

  • Excellent interpersonal/listening skills to interact effectively with individuals of all backgrounds, experience and educational levels.

  • Excellent written/oral communication skills. Demonstrates ability to communicate effectively with staff, physicians, and other allied health professionals.

  • Individual should be dynamic, creative and intelligent.

  • Successful individual should be a mature executive with a professional appearance/demeanor, excellent character, integrity and commitment.

  • Must be able to function effectively under stress.

  • Must have a general working knowledge of computers and department specific software (i.e. Healthstream, internet, etc.)

  • Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.

  • Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals, and values of MercyOne and Trinity Health.
