Job Description

Volt has an opportunity for you to become part of a prestigious team of professionals. We are seeking a Software Developer-Java to work onsite at John Deereā€™s facility in Urbandale, Iowa. This is a contingent position expected to last about 1 year.

Candidates are required to complete a Java and an AWS assessment to be considered for this opportunity

Required Skills/Experience:

  • 6 or more years of experience in designing and developing Java applications

  • Ability to understand complex architecture

  • 1 or more years of experience with AWS technologies

  • Experience with Agile methodologies (such as: Test Driven Development, Acceptance Test Driven Development)

Desired Skills/Experience:

  • Experience with AWS technologies and concepts, specifically: Kinesis, Lambda, ECS/EC2, Dynamo, Aurora, SNS, SQS

  • Virtualization experience, specifically with Docker

  • Understanding system reliability engineering

  • Experience with AWS Internet of Things (IoT), MQTT

  • Experience creating highly scalable applications that need to ramp up and ramp down infrastructure quickly and cost effectively

  • Experience with Precision Ag technologies and their use
