Title: Analytics Data Engineer II - 63558

Your Responsibilities

As an Analytics Data Engineer at John Deere Financial, your role your role will consist of two primary responsibilities. First, as one of our data experts, you will harmonize financial data from multiple business and enterprise systems into a format suitable for scientists and wranglers to consume. Second, you will enable analytics projects by building out and supporting development and production environments for our reports, applications, models and APIs. In addition, you will;

  • Collaborate with data scientists, data wranglers and data catalysts to design, build and support analytics solutions across the whole lifecycle (research and development, proof-of-concept, pilot, production)

  • Support secure automated movement, transformation and provisioning of financial data from a variety of sources

  • Help maintain analytics development environments, tools and processes

  • Create technical documentation and diagrams

  • Implement enhancements to improve cost, quality, and performance of analytics applications and models

  • Support operational needs of our production applications (monitoring, alerting, automation, deployments, on-call)

  • Write and support code in a variety of languages, including R, SAS and Python - Receive training and work direction from lead data engineers

  • Own and execute monthly data refreshes from source systems using SQL and SAS

Proven Technical Skills and Experiences

  • 3 or more years of experience in SQL or data analyst role

  • 2 or more years of experience of computer programming in data and analytics-oriented languages (e.g. R, Python, SAS)

  • 3 or more years of experience in applying automation techniques for managing data flows or applications

  • 2 or more years of experience in visualization tools or application development

Interpersonal, Leadership and Teaming Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of financial data and related business systems and processes or desire to build such expertise

  • Keen interest in maintaining high quality data sets for others to consume and aptitude for diving into and resolving discrepancies in data

  • Ability to construct end-to-end automated data flows through programming and software

  • Skilled in interpersonal communications, negotiation, and conflict resolution

Education (or equivalent work experience)

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Systems
