We have an excellent opportunity for an Adaptive Equipment Technician to join our team at ChildServe! This role will be responsible for the assembly, maintenance, repair, and/or delivery of durable medical equipment, which includes minor fitting and adjustments of equipment under the supervision of the ATP and/or therapist.What You'll Do
Assist with materials/supplies acquisition, receiving and inventory. Prepare and ship Orthotic casts out for fabrication. Keep a tracking log of items shipped and when received into inventory. Receive items (DME/Orthotics) from inventory and completes pre-fitting inspection. Deliver and pick up equipment, assure that all documentation is complete and accurate with proper signatures obtained. Relay any customer comments or concerns about products or services to appropriate manager or staff personnel.
Assemble equipment according to the manufacturer’s specifications and following the company’s standards of quality and productivity. Test, diagnose, and service/repair durable medical equipment per manufacturer’s specifications. Perform minor fitting and adjustments of equipment under the supervision of ATP and/or therapist.
Maintain workshop in clean and safe condition. Maintain delivery vehicle in clean, safe operating condition, completing vehicle checklist and mileage logs as required. Develop, implement, and facilitate internal quality assurance and continuous quality improvement processes. Comply with policy and regulatory agency standards as they apply to the workshop area and production procedures, including but not limited to fire safety, OSHA, Accreditation, RESNA, and third party payers.
Train/educate customers and/or caregivers in the proper use, care, and safety of equipment. Perform Child Passenger Safety inspections (upon completion of certification program as Child Passenger Safety Technician). Interact in a positive and professional manner in all dealings with clients, families, and other ChildServe team members by providing reliable and consistent customer service. Accept direction from the ATP and/or therapist regarding specific assembly and modification instructions.
Responsible for attending all Mandatory and recommended training per ChildServe policy. Responsible for completing continuing education requirements to maintain Child Safety Technician Certification. Responsible for continuing education/training in the field of adaptive equipment, including but not limited to new products, equipment and regulatory changes.
What You'll Need
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Technical Training in the field of adaptive equipment or willing to complete within 1 year
Child Passenger Safety Technician Certification or willing to complete within 1 year.
Valid driver’s license, a personal vehicle, proof of automobile insurance.
Ability to work independently with basic verbal and written instructional guidance from others.
Maintain positive working relationships and demonstrate sensitivity to, and respect for, a diverse population.
Lift and carry up to 50lbs, be mobile within the clinic areas, and frequently bend, lift, reach, and stand.
Be able to perform tasks that include grasping, turning, and fine manipulation of tools.
Must be able to demonstrate safe use of hand and power tools.
Ability to communicate effectively in reading, writing, and speaking the English language.
