Midwest One Bank Commercial Banking Officer in Iowa


The Commercial Banking Officer initiates, develops and manages commercial banking client relationships, comprising loan, cash management, deposit and FMG solutions that maximize profitability while minimizing risk to the bank.


  • Actively strengthen, retain and expand existing client relationships through sales, including cross-selling and service.

  • Establish an ongoing relationship where client needs are identified and addressed through proactive sales and service.

  • Establish and execute a continuing communication plan with clients, maintaining a periodic schedule of client contact and appropriately reporting on client interactions.

  • Integrate cross-selling opportunities during client interactions to augment client operating efficiencies and bank profitability.

  • Identify prospective clients and convert them into long-term, profitable relationships.

  • Develop and maintain a prospective calling list and communication plan for each prospect, while appropriately tracking prospect interactions.

  • Prepare and present financing proposals to existing and prospective clients.

  • Collect and relay all appropriate financial data and documentation needed for loan file/credit underwriting in accordance with loan policy for Loan Documentation and Credit areas.

  • Collaborate with Credit Analysts to prepare loan requests and present loan presentations to the Officers’ Loan Committee and Directors’ Loan Committee.

  • Responsible for professional development through ongoing knowledge of solutions, compliance requirements and loan policy and procedures.

  • Monitor loan repayment activities and develop necessary action plans to collect from past due accounts.

  • Participate in community activities that enhance the bank’s visibility and create new business opportunities.

  • Actively participate in Commercial Banking Group and organizational business development activities.

  • Perform other duties required or assigned.


Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university preferred plus 3-5 years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
