Midwest One Bank Budget and Management Reporting Manager in Iowa

Overview

Under general direction of the Chief Financial Officer, the role is responsible for leading and managing the Company’s Budget and Management Reporting activities. This role includes the development of annual budgets and periodic forecasts as well as oversight of the Company’s Management Reporting activities.

Responsibilities

Budget and Forecasting

  • Implement budgeting, financial forecasting, and modeling tools.

  • Manage the Company’s annual budget process, including the development of a bottom-up budget for bank branches and departments.

  • Support department and business line leaders with the budgeting process.

  • Periodic presentations to senior and executive management on budget preparation status and outcomes.

  • Continuously track Company financial performance to budget; provide updates to department and business line leaders on current financial performance.

  • Monitor performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variance.

  • Perform ad hoc analyses as requested by management.

Management Reporting

  • Develop, implement, and maintain management reporting and business intelligence tools to compile and distribute relevant financial management information throughout the Company.

  • Develop financial reports for department and business unit managers that provide insight into financial trends and results.

  • Create clear and accurate presentations for executive and senior management as well as the board of directors highlighting financial trends and results.

  • Maintain a detailed and thorough understanding of the corporate data stores and methods for accurately reporting management and financial information.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain an organizational profitability system, including funds transfer pricing. Lead efforts to refine profitability measurement at the product and customer level.

  • Perform ad hoc analyses as requested by management.

  • Provide training and consultation to management reporting system users.

Other

  • Establish and maintain effective rapport with employees, including executive and senior management.

  • Monitors staff performance; prepare written performance evaluations; coach, counsel, train, develop, and motivate staff to ensure effective and efficient execution of assigned tasks.

  • All employees are responsible for internal controls in the performance of their assigned duties. Internal Control responsibilities are established in various policies, procedures, and documents, including the Employee Handbook.

Qualifications

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • B.A. or B.S. in finance or related field, or combination of education and work experience.

  • Must have demonstrated proficiency with database management.
