The position will begin August 18, 2021.We seek individuals with evidence of significant professional promise or accomplishment in research that impacts science education. The successful applicant will be expected to maintain a robust program of empirical research; teach undergraduate and graduate courses in science education; and advise MA, and PhD students. We seek applicants who are committed to diversity, equity, and inclusivity in education.ResponsibilitiesMajor responsibilities include: conducting an active program or research and building a scholarly research agenda in education; design and teach undergraduate/graduate courses in teacher education and the Department of Teaching and Learning; and advise MA, and PhD students. In addition, the successful candidate will be expected to pursue and secure external funding; contribute to national and international scholarship; be involved with local, state, and national activities that support the practice of science education; and participate in service to the program, department, college, and university. Faculty are required to engage in at least 4 hours a semester of collaboration with teachers in contributing to instruction in K12 classrooms.SalaryHighly competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. It includes nine teacher education programs and four doctoral programs. The Science Education program area includes degrees at the BA, BS, MAT, MS, and PhD levels as well as an online MS in STEM Education. Courses are taught for elementary and secondary teacher education in these content areas. These courses include learning abroad opportunities as well as field experiences in schools and through place-based learning trips.
