Summary:
Under the supervision of the Director of Nursing, the Charge Nurse - RN/LPN is responsible for:• Supervising nursing team members whom provide direct resident care• Communicating with all health care providers and partners• Coordinating and implementing nursing care as ordered by the physician and agreed to by the resident• Documenting resident status/care/services in a timely, accurate, and comprehensive manner• Responsible for the provision of nursing services within the scope of licensure and in compliance with current standards of practice and corporate/care center policies and procedures• Following the plan of care and ensuring the overall health and well-being of each resident
Qualifications:
• Must have an unrestricted and active Iowa (or compact state) RN or LPN license• Experience in Skilled Nursing/Long-Term Care (LTC) preferred• Knowledge and understanding of federal and state nursing facility rules and regulations, including licensing, OSHA, CDC, and Public Safety• If licensed as an LPN, the Iowa Board of Nursing requires the completion of a Board-approved supervision course within six (6) months of working in a charge/supervisory capacity• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills specific to the English language
