ENGIE North America Production Support Manager (3912) in Garden City, New York

ENGIE is hiring aProduction Support ManagerinGarden City, NY. Nassau Energy is a 57MW combined cycle cogeneration facility that provides a district energy system with thermal energy in the form of high temperature hot water, steam, and chilled water 24/7/365days a year. The Production Support Manager works with and supervises the operations and maintenance teams, coordinating work flow, managing schedules, ensuring safety and environmental compliance in a dynamic environment What you’ll do: * Supervise the plant maintenance personnel, including: mechanics, electricians and instrumentation technicians. * Responsible for safe and efficient maintenance of plant equipment in accordance with plant procedures and equipment manufacturer’s procedures. * Responsible for informing the Plant Manager in the event any equipment is unable to support plant operations. * Responsible for procuring and coordinating the necessary service, material, and other support items to ensure that plant maintenance and performance commitments are met. * Manage engineering records, subcontractors, and regulatory documentation in accordance with good engineering practices and state and federal agency requirements. * Provide technical interface with equipment manufacturer’s representatives and evaluate and administrate warranty claims. * Maintain boiler code records and provide quality control inspections during boiler repairs consistent with A.S.M.E. Codes and Standards. * Present engineering analysis, plans and recommendations to plant staff, management and directors. * Be capable of filling in for the plant manager when needed. What you bring: * Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent plus seven (7) years of experience or an Associate’s degree plus nine (9) years of power plant experience. * * Five (5) years’ experience in supervising technical, maintenance or operations personnel. * Proficient computer, analytical, written and oral communication skills. * Must have valid driver’s license * Thorough knowledge of personal computers and software and their use for planning, budgeting, inventory control and database handling * Must have demonstrated technical ability in the operation and maintenance of power, steam and chilled water generating systems. * Working knowledge of ASME Boiler and Power Piping and Process Piping codes and standards. * *For this position, you must have evidence of right to work in the U.S. There is no employer sponsorship of U.S. residency or work authorization with this role. * Additional Information/Conditions: * Work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. * Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. * While performing the duties of this job, the employee is not exposed to weather conditions. * The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. * Climb stairs and ladders. * Work at heights and with adverse conditions during operation and when participating in fire and emergency activities. * Enter and work in a confined space. * Ability to work 80% indoors and 20% outdoors when required. * Lift 50 lbs. of weight * Eyesight corrected to 20/40 to accurately read and interpret instruments and gauges. * Hear and understand audible alarms, detect changes in noise levels of rotating equipment and portable radio communication. * Ability to respond to facility emergencies seven days a week, 24 hours a day. * Ability to meet highest attendance requirements * Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally. * Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy. * Ability to use personal computer, calculator, etc. * Could involve some lifting .
