The Analyst works under the direction of Software Development leadership and functions as analyst to test software to satisfy business requirements.

  • Assist with test design activities using risk assessment information, boundary value analysis, equivalence class partitioning, decision tables, and state diagrams to meet test objectives for low-complexity applications and systems in accordance with the department test strategy

  • Develop an understanding of testing terms including black box, white box, unit, component integration, system integration, static, dynamic, functional, and nonfunctional

  • Assist in test preparation activities including eliciting requirements, converting business rules to user stories, test data management, assessing software designs for testability, reviewing tier-based test plan, and the creating of plans to mitigate feature failure risk

  • Participate in the execution of various types of testing, including exploratory, regression, user acceptance, scenario based, performance, smoke, and story testing

  • Develop an understanding of technical concepts involved with test infrastructure including but not limited to pre-production environments, software promotion models, source code control, and build release management

  • Develop basic knowledge and competence with the technical skills associated with TSQL, business driven development testing tools, test results analysis, test coverage analysis, and delivering clear test summaries and formal bug reports

Associate’s degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
