What's The Job?

Title:Safety Observer

Location: Eddyville, Iowa

Salary:

up to $28/hr (DOE)

Hours:

Monday - Thursday 6am-4:30pm

What Will I Be Doing?

Here are just a few things you can expect to do daily:

  • Team member must be able to work in a team oriented and safety conscious environment. "Safety First" expectations include, but are not limited to, PJHA process, Observation process, and compliance with all company / site safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Responsibilities also include documenting safety inspections, citing dangerous areas/procedures and recommending corrective procedures, and maintaining safety equipment supply and availability .
  • Perform daily safety proper PPE. Counsel employees that do not meet expectations to ensure that they accept the importance of working safety.
  • Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
  • Must have strong computer skills including working knowledge of Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Word and possess the ability to work alone, prioritize, and multitask.
  • Employee will perform any and all other relevant duties assigned by the responsible supervisor .
  • Ensures compliance with all company / customer regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Must maintain a consistent and good attendance record in accordance with Company policy
  • Achieve performance expectations set forth as part of performance appraisals to include employee development planning.
  • Communications with all team members to assist the development of short- and long-range planning in assist of the company's goals and objectives
  • Meet physical requirements of the job. Physical requirements of the job will be provided to you prior to employment.
  • Perform assigned tasks in a safety, effective, and efficient manner.
  • Accurate and timely administrative duties to include, but not limited to, time accounting and work order completion.
  • Must maintain positive customer and employee relations.

  • Education: Possess a high school degree or an approved GED.

  • Experience: 2 years of experience in the field or in a related area desired but not required. Computer

  • Skills: Must have strong computer skills including knowledge of Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
  • Additional Skills: Good facilitator skills with strong interpersonal skills. Effectively work with all levels of the organization. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work independently, prioritize and multitask

  • Ability to operate forklifts or other vehicles in a safe manner
  • Ability to wear a respirator while performing job duties
