Join a team that makes "Great Things Happen!"The role of the Retail Branch Operations Administrator is to direct and oversee the operational effectiveness of all branches of Heartland Financial USA, Inc., subsidiary banks. This individual provides operational coaching, mentoring, guidance and directions to branch personnel on a wide variety of retail bank operations policies and procedures; works closely with other Heartland operations and bank branch personnel to improve operational efficiencies to better serve the clients; and ensures compliance with regulatory, security and internal controls which includes timely completion of procedures and audits.PRIMARY & ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:Branch Operations* Develops, updates and administers Heartland Retail Branch Operations policies and procedures.* Provides guidance and direction to branch staff positions to ensure compliance of regulatory, security and internal controls.* Focuses on operational processes to provide superior customer experience.* Evaluates and improves reporting and monitoring for operational effectiveness.* Conducts consistent branch visits to banks across the Heartland footprint to monitor and observe branch operations.Risk and Compliance* Conducts annual branch operational audits and compliance reviews to help ensure satisfactory branch audits.* Serves as liaison with the disaster recovery group; execute plan when required.* Liaisons with BSA and Fraud departments to minimize losses.* Reviews and certifies completion of continuity and recovery activities.* Oversees branch physical security procedures.Operational training, performance Coaching, and Communication* Monitors performance in operational metrics and makes improvement recommendations.* Provides coaching and guidance on compliance and operational/regulatory procedures to all branch staff roles.* Communicates with branch personnel on new operations that require changes to current processes.* Works with HR training personnel to ensure regular refresher courses and/or workshops on operations and risk for branch personnel are being completed.Other* Handles escalated customer issues that result from operational implications.* Takes the lead in investigating complex operational issues that are unique and/or broad reaching (i.e., across branches, banks).* Assists the M&A team and facilitates training for Retail Branch Operations during the merger and acquisition process to ensure efficiencies are maintained and clear operational direction is provided.REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:* Undergraduate degree with a business major or relevant work experience* 3-5 years of banking experience.* Demonstrated ability to lead and coach branch personnel on compliance related issues.* Strong knowledge of banking policies and procedures.* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.* Demonstrated experience with problem solving skills involving moderate to complex client issues.* Strong detail orientation.* Working knowledge of branch automation software and testing & documentation procedures.* Demonstrated organizational skills while managing multiple tasks.* Ability to interact with business partners such as Key Investment Services, Mortgage and Business Banking sales professionals.* A solid understanding of operations (audit, compliance, fraud, loss).* Working knowledge of teller and retail product sales related software, PC (MS Windows and Office Products including Word, Excel, etc).* Knowledge of bank products and services, including how to open new accounts.* Working knowledge of branch network and internal s
