Supervise the Mortgage Servicing staff and provide regular coaching to enable them to successfully carry out the goals and objectives of the department.
Assist in developing, implementing and tracking of departmental goals, strategies and incentives as well as the credit union’s strategic plans.
Recognize member and potential member needs and cross-sell and educate them on appropriate credit union services.
Oversee and perform all mortgage servicing processes including but not limited to timely escrow tax and insurance disbursements, escrow analysis, PMI payment and cancellations, payoff quotes, transaction posting, booking of new loans, ensuring property insurance is maintained on real estate loan collateral, ARM rate changes, construction to permanent maintenance, setup and process mortgage savings transfer accounts, setup automatic transfers, review past due notices, mortgage releases, investor tasks, etc.
Maintain documentation necessary for year-end reporting requirements.
Knowledge of the Credit Union systems to ensure loans are serviced in compliance with regulations, Fannie Mae, and FHLB requirements.
Assist in performing system testing as it relates to mortgage loans. This includes Phoenix new releases, interfaces with other systems, importing of tax information from our tax service, submitting investor reports and files.
Perform balancing and tracking tasks associated with escrow tax disbursements.
Prepare payment modification documents and update systems to match.
Answer Mortgage lending inquiries about rates, payments, types of programs, payoffs, etc. from members stopping in or on phone inquiries from realtors, members or general public.
Participate in developing policies and efficient procedures for mortgage operations.
Assist in evaluating processes and recommending procedure changes as necessary.
Utilize technology to maximize both the member experience and efficiencies within the department.
Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience.
Experience in Mortgage lending, closing, and/or servicing, required.
Supervisory experience preferred.
Interpersonal skills necessary to gather data from a number of sources and to represent positively the credit union during such contacts.
Excellent computer skills.
Good decision making techniques.
Accounting and/or real estate servicing experience preferred.
