Job Summary

The Business Intelligence Administrator is responsible for the development and administration of the enterprise level business intelligence systems.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Configure and administer the network servers and applications directly related to the business intelligence system. This includes, but not limited to, Microsoft SQL Server, Tableau Server and Tableau PC client applications.

  • Coordinate with business unit BI analysts on a frequent basis to identify information needs and then develop solutions.

  • Create and administer data extractions from various platforms to a Microsoft SQL Server for the purpose of establishing databases and tables visible to the Tableau Server and desktop applications.

  • Provide guidance and assistance to BI Analyst in the development of SQL Server Views, Tableau Projects, and other analytical tools.

  • Develop and maintain technical documentation for the business intelligence systems and processes.

  • Provide technical guidance to other I.T. personnel as needed for the maintenance of the business intelligence servers and applications.

  • Participates in Helpdesk duties, working to resolve problems reported to the IT department, in the most timely and efficient manner.

  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of I.T.


  • BS or BS in Computer Science, Database Administration, or related area. Five years of equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of degree requirement.

  • Knowledge of; Microsoft SQL Server, IBMi System BS2 Databases, Database administration, SQL View creation and editing

  • Knowledge of Tableau BI Server a plus, but not required
