The Opportunity

Cloud Infrastructure

Within FSO, our Cloud Infrastructure competency works collaboratively with our clients to conduct complex, strategic analyses of clients' IT organizations, operating models, processes, applications and infrastructure. Financial institutions need computing power but many lack extensive physical computing infrastructure. The ever-increasing need for computing power and the technology that enables it has created demand for innovation and transformation of legacy computing models towards cloud infrastructure. Financial institutions are looking to build smarter and more efficient ways to securely access their networks and store data to operate their business, create new revenue streams and better manage risk. We believe that to fully unlock the potential of cloud infrastructure, we need to develop a business value-driven strategy and methodology to evaluate new emerging technologies and assess how technology should be best integrated into an existing system and implemented to secure data effectively.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Work with clients to execute projects driving successful delivery of engagements, managing teams and supervising delivery of work products

  • Support the sales cycle for projects, demonstrating value to potential and existing clients through presentations

  • Build strong client relationships and cultivate business opportunities

  • Initiate and build thought leadership and support the development of market campaigns to expand and sell our offerings

  • Lead and coach diverse teams of professionals with different backgrounds on both technical and non-technical engagements

Skills and attributes for Success

  • Experience working within a cloud environment such as Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform and/or IBM Cloud

  • Strong understanding of information technology automation principles and practices, including familiarity with popular tools in the space such as Jenkins, Terraform, Packer, Artifactory, Chef, Puppet, etc.

  • Background in scripting and/or application development, or relevant experience managing projects that involved authoring and testing code/scripts

  • Experience with Agile methodologies and delivery of projects leveraging Agile teams

  • Strong ability to manage engagement teams and projects

  • Strong ability to foster an innovative and inclusive team-oriented work environment

  • Strong ability to understand business challenges and translate them into value-add solutions

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Strong ability to interface with both business and technology client stakeholders 

  • Strong leadership and teaming skills and ability to work with minimal guidance

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills

To qualify for the role you must have

  • Education – Technical BS/BA degree or master’s degree in relevant field

  • Career experience – 5+ years of work experience in a leadership/management role; 3+ years of relevant experience in cloud computing technology, consulting, client-serving and R&D roles preferred, including working with the hardware and software involved in developing and accessing cloud systems

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of current cloud computing technologies, complex information systems and technology organizations

Ideally, you also have experience and technical expertise to some degree in one or more of the other DET competencies.
