Principal Sr Investment & Product Solution Analyst I (RFP Writer) in Des Moines, Iowa
As a Sr. Investment and Product Solutions Analyst I in our Retirement and Income Solutions (RIS) Product Management area, you’ll analyze incoming Request for Proposals (RFPs) for our new and existing clients! You will be working on our Institutional and Signature opportunities that have over $100 million in assets. These opportunities span across all of the pillars in our RIS business (Defined Contribution, Defined Benefit, Non-Qualified, Employee Stock Option Plans and Trust & Custody)! As a senior RFP writer you’ll be responsible for creating persuasive, custom content that helps Principal win and retain clients. In this role you’ll get to think big picture about our business while still learning about each product pillar and their business partners.
Here are few examples of the kinds of things you’ll do when you join our team:
Communicate, collaborate and provide input into services, product offering, fee and investment strategies in partnership with the assigned pricer.
Understand and articulate competitor attributes proficiently and position the RFP for the win against those competitors, share intel and mentor peers.
Lead verbal and written communication with Sr. Leadership across all WSRS as it relates to opportunities.
Lead workgroups and projects to improve products and processes.
Lead & facilitate cross-functional strategic conversations that align with high level initiatives.
Coordinate, develop/ write, and disperse our response to the RFP on a variety of topics such as information about Principal, specific retirement plan services, investment options, fees, and much more
Work closely with our field partners (including Institutional Managing Directors, Vice President or Director of Sales, Relationship Managers) along with our SME’s/ experts across the company to create customized client focused responses.
Provide coaching/mentoring/training within the department to ensure the understanding of new products, services, and investments.
Look at innovative ways to enhance current processes and procedures to align positively with business strategy and team development.

We’re looking for someone with:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
8+ years related experience required
Very strong writing skills
Successful candidate will have the following:
Requires the ability to comprehend and analyze complex information, solid strategic and critical thinking skills.
Ability to work independently and as a team member to meet strict timing deadlines.
Detail oriented person who places a high priority on accuracy.
Ability to manage to deadlines and coordinate multiple projects and timelines successfully in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with the following is preferred:
Knowledge of retirement aspects, including plan design, plan types/ various pillars, products and services, investments, and the competitive environment.
Baseline understanding of the competition, opportunities, and customer experience
