Use your strengths as Sr. Health Services System Configuration Analyst
In this role, you’ll serve as the expert system administrator for systems specific to Health Services and provide highest level subject matter expertise regarding system functionality, and configuration. You’ll lead the configuration of business rules/requirements, including ID/Strat rule sets, business rules, letters, and maintenance of all corresponding documentation. This includes the proactive identification and implementation of enhancements, upgrades, and maintenance changes to systems to improve workflow processes and capabilities. You’ll also ensure the completion of business level testing associated with major upgrades/enhancements, projects, and system conversions.

**This is a non-IT role that is a part of Wellmark’s Health Services department.
Bachelor’s degree or direct and applicable work experience.
5+ years of system configuration related experience in a fast-paced environment, including:
Subject matter business/technology expert on one or more system applications. Success leading configuration activities on large-scale, complex system configuration related projects from end to end.
Advanced data analysis, querying and reporting proficiency; demonstrates strong understanding of databases, logic, and BI/reporting tools such as PowerBI, SAS, SQL, business objects, etc..
Ability to lead and partner with 3rd party vendors and technology support teams in planning and troubleshooting complex implementations and issues.
Strong technical acumen and proficiency with technology support tools such as MS Excel, with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
Strong analytical, research and critical thinking skills. Proactively identifies opportunities and uses creativity approach to problem solving root cause analysis and troubleshooting issues and resolutions.
Advanced written and verbal communication skills. Skilled at sharing complex information in a consumable manner to diverse audiences, including leadership and technical and non-technical stakeholders and external vendors.
Experience managing and optimizing complex workflows, business rule sets and system configurations.
Advanced consulting skills demonstrated by the ability to understand needs/requirements, make business process/workflow recommendations, and influence stakeholder decisions.
Ability to collaborate across the organization and provide proactive solutions to key decision makers and effectively work between IT and business.
Attentive to details. Demonstrated commitment to accuracy and quality.
Proactive self-starter with effective time management skills and the ability to independently organize and prioritize projects or tasks.
Flexible, adaptable, and helps lead change within a team. Remains open to feedback and focused during unanticipated challenges.
Ability to coach and mentor others.
Financial Services or insurance industry experience, including knowledge of relevant regulations.
Familiarity with system integrations, thinks up/down stream and partners effectively with cross-divisional teams, including Technology.
Experience eliciting and documenting business-level technical requirements.
Exposure to health services systems (e.g. Jiva), including system configuration.
Development/coding experience is a plus.
a. Serve as the expert system administrator for systems specific to Health Services. Includes ownership of all aspects of configuration of business code tables and rules, correspondence engine and templates, workflows and system roles/permissions supporting the business processes and requirements. Ensures data validation of configuration output. Proactively develop, maintain and document business knowledge of the applications and ID/Strat rules in order to engage with IT and other business partners and effectively plan, build and manage configurations upon the approval of Health Services leadership.
b. Determines prioritization, executes and manages configurations of Health Services system functionality. Apply knowledge and experience of Health Services programs through design, development, and maintenance of the systems including documentation. Perform administrator updates to the systems and portals as necessary.
c. Lead the design, creation and/or editing of reports according to business requirements including configuration of business rules as necessary utilizing data warehouse business objects, Power BI, SAS and/or SQL databases.
d. Serve as primary business technical support contact with the systems vendors and technology build/run teams for business and technical questions. Keep up to date and informed regarding system and vendor changes and enhancements, updating the system library of release notes for business as usual project activity. Participate in vendor led working groups as available to champion for future out of the box enhancements that will support Health Services strategy.
e. Provides functional oversight and is responsible for the development and management of documentation of the Health Services systems, including, but not limited to context diagrams, configuration rules / sets, business rules, and all integrations.
f. Responsible for effort assessment including time, complexity and upstream/downstream impacts related to configuration requests. Collaborate with and provide configuration recommendations to leadership for approval. Maintain a professional demeanor and seek to create understanding when delivering decisions and information that is not in agreement with the requesting party.
g. Plan, lead and perform unit and system testing associated with system configuration and business rules. Lead and support defect triage and fixes for business configurations across all environments. Develop and manage library of vendors release notes and materials along with assessment including value, complexity and upstream/downstream impacts for business as usual upgrades.
h. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards, accreditation standards and internal guidelines remain current and consistent with the standards pertinent to Health Services.
i. Other duties as assigned.
