Principal Sr Associate Accountant - Expense Team (remote opportunity) in Des Moines, Iowa
RIS Finance is seeking a dynamic accounting professional to join the expense team. In this role, you will prepare, analyze, research, and communicate financial expense information. As a part of the expense team, you will be involved in a variety of tasks related to expenses including forecast planning and analysis. You will be a critical part of RIS by being an expense allocation contact and business partner to operational areas to assist with their finance needs.
Here are a few examples of things you will do:
Supporting the expense process for both actual and forecasted expenses.
Serve as a contact to a business unit leader to provide analysis, allocation research and answer general questions.
Participate in the analytical review of financial information to ensure accurate reporting and/or control functions.
Establish, analyze, and review accounting procedures to ensure the integrity of information.
Investigate unanticipated variances, providing timely feedback to source areas to ensure that issues are addressed promptly within close timeframes.
Support system enhancements and recommend process/system improvements that maximize operating efficiencies.
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance or equivalent experience plus 2+ years of relevant experience required
Strong presentation skills required
CPA or other applicable certifications preferred
This role offers the ability for in-office, hybrid (blending both office and remote work in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements. You’ll work with your leader to determine which option may align best based on several factors.
