Enterprise Data & Applications (EDA) is looking for a talented Software Engineer to join a delivery team that supports some of Principal’s most critical systems. You will be working with a highly collaborative cross-functional team to design and implement enterprise wide solutions. In this position, you will collaborate with your teammates as well as those from across the organization to create and drive strategy & architecture for our applications and services.
EDA’s engineering culture is maturing, and this position will play a key role in further developing how one of our teams will operate moving forward. We’re looking for someone with:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree with a preference in a science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM) related field or equivalent work experience (6 years of experience equates to an Associate’s degree when defining “equivalent work experience”)
We would also consider a candidate who went through an intensive Code Academy or Code School program. But, you’d also have to have the following:
An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree
Strong academic/personal experience articulating your software development experience/expertise
Development Experience in modern technology (IT internship experience, community exposure, or professional experience)
Strongest candidates will have 1+ years of development experience and exposure to some or many of the “preferred” skills listed below
Additional preferred technical experience:
Experience with development, build and deployment tooling (e.g. Maven, Git, RAD/Eclipse and/or IntelliJ IDE, Bamboo)
TDD, and automated testing (e.g. jUnit, Cucumber)
Service development experience (e.g. SOAP, REST)
Relational databases and SQL
Automation tooling experience
Experience with DevOps practices (Pair Programming, XP, TDD, CI, CD, etc.)
Familiarity with Secure Software development concepts/practices
Willing to consider applicants at multiple job levels.
