What's the role? You will lead Wellmark’s business continuity program including development, implementation, documentation, testing and maintenance. You will engage with business stakeholders across Wellmark to conduct annual assessments that identify gaps and opportunities to enhance our business continuity plan. You will also be responsible for coordinating all preventative plans in collaboration with government safety and security agencies.
What does it take to make the cut? At least 3 years of experience in the field of continuity, disaster recovery, and/or emergency management. You should have a strong technical aptitude with an understanding of disaster recovery and the integration of technology. You have a strong grasp on processes and people and understand the importance of crisis preparation. Associate’s Degree in related field or direct and equivalent work experience
Minimum of three years’ work experience in the field of business continuity, disaster recovery, emergency management or other related field.
IT experience, including understanding of system integration
Strong problem-solving skills to recognize patterns in data or events and to draw logical conclusions and make recommendations for action and to plan and implement policies and procedures.
Demonstrated proficiency in personal computer skills; experience using Microsoft Office software products; proficiency in keying and software program features based on required assessments.
User expertise and experience with software application programs or a strong technical aptitude with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
Strong written and verbal communication skills including, but not limited to, writing reports, emails and documents for internal/external audiences, and presenting to various internal audiences
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships of trust.
Project management and leadership skills to plan workflow, manage projects, prepare documentation and resolve conflicting demands; ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
Demonstrated experience with crisis situations and prioritizing under extreme time pressures.
Travel required 5-10%

Has on-call responsibilities.
a. Serve as the administrative for Wellmarks comprehensive Business Continuity program including scheduling and planning for communication and the restoration of business functionality in the event of a disaster.b. Coordinate all semiannual plan updates and provide assistance in evaluating, developing, and maintaining Business Continuity preparedness.c. Communicate significant plan changes to the Business Continuity team for evaluation.d. Analyze and monitor all reports related to the Business Continuity agenda and requirements. Respond to business queries regarding business continuity.e. Ensure business areas maintain up to date business continuity plans and track compliance against agreed schedule of maintenance, review and test activities. Coordinate and execute maintenance of the business continuity plans.f. Develop and test infrastructure protection strategies and incident response exercises.Will coordinate the implementation, training, testing and maintenance of response and recovery processes, and conducting exercises.Present findings to each business unit and collaborate on action plans to mitigate risks. Lead walk through exercises and update plans with changes identified in the walk through.g. Work to build strong relationships and learn business operations to understand corporate business continuity standards.h. Provide 24/7 on call support during any emergency which may require activation of all or part of the business continuity plans.i. Other duties as assigned.
